US Cross Country teams take CCS Championship

Cross Country Teams Win CCS Championships

Congratulations to the Upper School Cross Country teams – boys and girls – who repeated as CCS Champions in dramatic fashion over the weekend. Both races ended in a tie after the five scoring runners crossed the finish line.
Under the direction of Albert Caruana , long-time CSUS cross country coach, the Crystal teams won the tiebreaker (which was determined by the fastest sixth runner) in each instance to take the championship. It is very unusual for a cross country team to win a section title by a tiebreaker, let alone two. Thank you to the families, teachers, friends, and former Olympian Craig Virgin (pictured with the team) who came out to support the teams! See video.
