 | On Saturday night, May 1, over 200 revelers "Came Home to Crystal" for Reunion 2010. This annual event, focused this year on classes ending in 5 or 0, is a time for graduates to reconnect with friends and faculty. This year, the Class of 1990 had not only the biggest turnout (42), but were also winners of a champagne toast for having the highest percentage of donors to CSUS - 33%. One of their classmates, Michelle Wohl, prepared a slide show featuring a "Then and Now" section that had pictures of members of the class 'then' next to their 'now' pictures. Needless to say, it was the highlight of their evening.
The Class of 1960 took a picture on the stairs in the Head's office, long the traditional spot for the senior survivor photo. Other classes in attendance were 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 2000 and 2005. Several current and retired faculty and staff also attended, reconnecting with former students. As one faculty member put it, 'I spent the evening talking to middle aged people who used to be teenagers." Saturday, May 2 brought over 200 alumni of all ages home to Crystal for Reunion 2009. Alumni were joined by current and former faculty members for an evening of memories and merriment. The festivities began with a State of the School talk by Amy Richards, Head of School and a campus tour. During cocktails, DABA, an a capella group formed by class of 2004 members David Morgenthaler, Arianne Abela, Brittney Williams and Andrew Saxe when they were seniors reunited to give a crowd pleasing performance. The Alumnae of the Year Award was presented to Donna Bowman Abrahamson ’79 and Jennifer Brown Moriarty ’89. A sumptuous buffet dinner was followed by dancing in the Ballroom. A wonderful time was had by all. |
