When Bobby Long enters the room, it is immediately apparent that he is neither your average Californian nor your average high school athletic director. Long is young, energetic, and dressed better than a Silicon Valley executive, and after we shake hands the first thing he suggests is conducting the interview outside, where it’s 76 degrees and sunny. “Sounds good to me!”
English teacher Heidi Gruber brought our vision of One Crystal to life in her Middle School classroom this spring. She invited faculty and staff from both the Upper and Middle Schools to read portions of the timeless yet highly complex novel, To Kill A Mockingbird, aloud to the class and share their personal experiences with the novel.
One of the most incredible things about being a Crystal faculty member is reaping the benefits of Crystal's deep commitment to supporting the scholastic development and personal growth of its teachers. Each year, faculty have the opportunity to apply for a Loveland Fellowship which funds an opportunity for them "to find intellectual stimulation and gain significant personal and professional benefit" in the summer months.
