Gala 2019: A Night of Thrills Under the Big Top

The circus was in town for one night only at the Middle School for the annual Gryphon Gala in early March. The decked-out crowd sported whimsical circus-themed costumes, and were just as dazzling as the jugglers, stilt walkers, tarot card and palm readers, and other acts during the Silent Auction and cocktails.

We headed for the Big Top tent for a scrumptious dinner and Live Auction where the Upper School choral group, Madrigals, opened the show with a rendition of "The Greatest Show" from the hit musical, The Greatest Showman. Brava to our Impresarias, the glittering Gala Co-Chairs, Ellen Peck and Sandy Moore — along with their acrobatic team of talented volunteers — for one of the best Crystal galas ever! Thanks as well to all of the donors, underwriters, and bidders for raising nearly $1 million for Crystal students and teachers, including $450,000 for the Fund-A-Need (paddle raise) for financial aid.
