June 1 and 2 marked Crystal Springs Uplands School's historic Drive-In 8th and 12th grade graduation ceremonies. After months of distance learning and fears that we would not be able to celebrate our graduates at all, the school was thrilled...
...to honor and mark the achievements of our 8th graders and the following night celebrate and say goodbye (for now) to our 12th graders.
Being a force for change in the world was the message of the graduation speakers, Kelly Sortino, Head of School, and Chris Schoberl, Head of MS. The US commencement keynote speaker and US English Department Head Allison Chang gave a moving speech about learning to listen to her own voice in order to find personal happiness and encouraged our graduating seniors to listen to themselves to be a force for change in the world.
While we would have loved to have been able to be together with no barriers between us to mark the incredible achievements of our graduates, these two events will go down in Crystal's history as an example of the unbounded love, commitment, and ability to adapt that makes the Crystal community so special.
