Physics, Engineering & Tech: Building Bridges
Recently, in Dr. Venuti's P.E.T. (Physics, Engineering and Technology) class, students were given an assignment to build a scale model of a bridge based on the design they created using the West Point Bridge Building project CAD program.
They were given specifications and a budget and were charged with making an aesthetically pleasing and innovative bridge. Once the bridge model was built, it was subjected to a stress test. Once the students completed their bridges, judges were invited to view the models and awarded prizes based on six criteria. And the winners were: 1st place: Allie L and Katie C, 2nd place: Stephanie H and Dexter B, 3rd place: Sophia S and Austin C, 4th place: Helen M and Jennie S.
