Crystal Families Create “Easy Meal Care Bags”

Under the leadership of Parent Association Service Learning co-chairs Hina Maheshwari and Bettina Mirsepahi, Crystal families gathered on the US campus in early February to create care packages for families whose children are hospitalized and facing serious illness.

Crystal students and parents helped assemble “Easy Meal Care Bags” full of snacks and microwaveable meals for families who are bedside with their children at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. In addition to making the care bags, families wrote notes of encouragement with the tagline "Made with care by Crystal Springs Uplands School" to  show their support. View photos.

The co-chairs collaborated with There With Care, a non-profit organization which provides essential daily services (such as food and clothing) to under-served children and families during the critical phase of their child’s medical crisis.

The co-chairs are grateful for the community spirit and empathy displayed at this event!
