Sophomore Year Timeline


Fall
  • Take PSAT (October)
  • Attend class-wide meeting with CCO (October)

Winter
  • Start thinking about, researching and applying to summer programs/activities
  • Encourage your parents/ guardians to attend the College Night for Parents of Sophomores (Jan)
  • Meet with advisor to discuss/update courses for junior year
  • Attend class-wide meeting with College Counseling Office to familiarize self with Naviance (Jan)

Spring
  • Apply to summer opportunities
  • Attend Case Study Night and College Fair at Sacred Heart School (April)
  • Sign up for and take AP exams if taking AP courses (May)
  • Register for and take SAT Subject tests if applicable (May/June)

Summer
  • Take SAT and ACT diagnostic tests to determine which is best option for you (early June)
  • Summer program / activity and vacation
  • If vacation plans take you near an area with colleges and universities, swing by for a visit!
