How to Apply for Financial Aid

CSUS uses the School and Student Services (SSS) to process and analyze all financial aid applications. Using the SSS’s award recommendation as a starting point, we reevaluate every application to consider each family's circumstance.

In order for us to evaluate your family’s financial situation, you will need to complete the SSS application, submit tax forms and sign a tax request form (located on the SSS website).

Please note: for parents who are divorced or separated, each parent needs to fill out a separate SSS application and send their tax returns and tax request form to the SSS.

Helpful Resources
If you missed the December 1 financial aid workshop, you can find a webinar version of it here. In addition, the SSS has posted many brief webinars on how to complete certain parts of the application. Take a look at this link: Of course, you are also welcome to contact Mieke Tonn @ for assistance.

Case Studies

The following are sample cases meant to give a general insight into who might qualify for Financial Aid. There are many factors in addition to the ones listed below which are taken into consideration for each case evaluation; results may vary from the generic case studies below.
