The Boys JVA Basketball team finished a strong season with a 4-3 record. The boys came out of the gates strong with wins over Sacred Heart and The Kings Academy, but injuries slowed the team down as the season progressed. The team had standout performances throughout the season and should be proud of the grit and resilience they displayed throughout the season. The team members were: Takiq B, Nate C, Rohan D, Teague D, Josh G, Devin H, Charlie K, Louis L, Jonathan L, Sam S, and Henry W. The future looks bright for Crystal basketball!
The girls overcame two early-season defeats and went 2-0-1 in their last three games. In their final game of the season, Crystal defeated Menlo School with an exciting 3-2 win. The team was led by eighth graders Caitlin C, Elizabeth S, Morgan C, Jasmyn M, Kimya B, Sophia V, Anna B, Sabina D, Malia S, and Nishi P. Strong performances were also turned in by seventh graders Maile B, Alison S, Georgia and Skylar T. Great job Gryphons for a fantastic season!
Crystal middle schoolers (and teachers) had a Silicon-Valley-worthy morning on December 7 as they coded up a storm. While the rest of the world participated in Hour of Code, students sipped hot chocolate while clad in cuddly PJ's for an hour of Cozy Coding. Our Crystal coders are well on their way to becoming the Valley's next generation of engineers.
In early December, the 9th, 10th and 11th grade spent a full day off campus with various Human Development community partner organizations, learning about and assisting with food banks, senior living facilities, beach clean-ups, underserved communities, and more. The Crystal student and faculty delegation to the annual National Association of Independent School’s Student Diversity Leader Conference headed to Nashville in early December to “develop cross-cultural communication skills, design effective strategies for social justice practice through dialogue and the arts, and learn the foundations of allyship and networking principles” (www.nais.org).
