Crystal Boys tennis traveled to Sunnyvale to play The Kings Academy under brutal wind conditions. Committed to staying focused (and not complaining about the wind), the Gryphons clinched the match quickly, winning the first four matches in convincing fashion. The experience of the five seniors among the six doubles spots was evident as our teams returned consistently, crossed aggressively, and served smartly.
Josh C and Owen D have dominated their last 4 matches, only losing 3 games in one set since Feb. 28. Ethan L returned to doubles action after a few matches in the singles line-up. Ethan’s powerful serve and returns allowed Henry D to fly around the net picking off balls. Justin L and Kunal V operated with ruthless precision, not dropping a single game in the second set. Brian B ignored the wind, ripping winners from all over the court.
The team is excited about returning to Crystal’s courts for a big match with Harker on Thursday.
