The Middle School Provides Dinner for Local Families

Middle School students, families, and PAC members prepared and delivered a contactless homemade dinner for clients at the Life Moves|First Step for Families Homeless Shelter in San Mateo on Saturday, October 10, 2020.

Middle School Student Council Co-President Rohan D '25 helped to lead the project and wrote:

Before Coronavirus shut our world down, food scarcity was already on the rise. LifeMoves was welcoming volunteer-run dinners for 70 people each weekend. During this pandemic, however, food scarcity has become even more prevalent. Companies who had catered to the shelter have now pulled out, leaving the staff with limited resources to feed 140 people at a time, a doubling of clients. Our dinner included homemade organic pasta primavera, meatballs, homemade cookies, salad, fruit, carrots, water, and juice.

Thanks to all of the faculty, staff, students, and families who generously gave time and donations to this endeavor!
