Crystal Cross Country Makes School History with Three State Titles!

Crystal’s Cross Country made school history in November as both Boys and Girls teams won the State Championship team titles! Senior Kaiya B ‘23 also won the individual state title. This was the first state title of any kind for our school and in a span of an hour, the cross country team collected three of them.
The Girls Cross Country Team won the team title by two points finishing ahead of 11-time state champion University High School. Along with Kaiya, the team included freshmen Anna S '26 and Kira D '26, junior Maya W '24, freshman Heidy A '26 and senior Jasmyn M '23.

The Boys Cross Country Team beat the 2nd place Menlo team to claim the team title by four points. The team was led by sophomore Benjamin B '25 who finished in 5th place overall. The rest of the team included senior Furious C '23, sophomores Tarik B '25 and Oliver B '25, and juniors Dean W '24, Matthew M '24, and Lachlan G '24.

There are five divisions at each state cross country meet and Crystal was the only school this year to win both team titles. This was also the first time a team from the Central Coast Section (CCS) won both titles in the same year.

It was an unbelievably historic day for our runners. Congratulations!
