8th Graders Visit Glide

In mid-October, 8th grade students took their first trip (of two) to Glide in San Francisco. Students spent the first part of the day working with some of the people that run Glide, learning more about the organization, and discussing what it means to create an inclusive community.

Glide, an organization located in the Tenderloin, describes itself as a "radically inclusive, just and loving community mobilized to alleviate suffering and break the cycles of poverty and marginalization." After lunch the group broke into two groups: one group served lunch to the community, and the other group went on a walking tour of the Tenderloin.

On the trip back to Belmont, both groups had a lot to share about their experiences and everything that they had learned. They are already looking forward to the next trip to Glide which will take place in January.
